Two bodies were found in the rubble of a house in Missouri that was razed to the ground by an explosion early Friday morning. The bodies are believed to be those of the house’s residents.
The explosion was so powerful that it ripped open doors in neighboring homes and was felt for miles. According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, nothing was left standing in the house after the explosion.
Just before 5 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a call from a neighbor reporting the explosion. They then received calls from other neighbors and residents who had heard the explosion.
According to the sheriff’s office, officers found a dog that apparently died in the explosion. They believe the dog lived in the house.

No injuries were reported outside the home. The Missouri Propane Safety Commission was called in because of the possibility of a gas leak.
The Missouri Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the explosion. The Missouri Propane Safety Commission is also investigating the explosion.
The sheriff’s office told ABC News there was no evidence of foul play.

“Arriving at the scene and not seeing any sign of a house – just debris scattered everywhere – is shocking,” said Sarah Boyd, spokeswoman for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
“It’s especially hard knowing that at 4:30 a.m. there’s probably someone sleeping inside. Our officers have never seen anything like this,” Boyd said.
